Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP) on November 18 2014 released Global Terrorism Index 2014. The Index 2014 provides ranks for 162 countries and provides a fact-based understanding of terrorism and its impact.According to the report,

6. There were almost 10000 terrorist attacks recorded in 2013 representing a 44 percent increase in the number of terrorist incidents.
7. 24 countries experienced more than 50 deaths in 2013 that increased to 60 percent from 15 countries in 2012.
